QuickQR — Privacy Policy

QuickQR generates and scans QR codes on your device. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server of its own — the codes you scan and create are never uploaded to us. The app does show ads, and that part involves Google. This page explains exactly what happens.

What QuickQR stores on your device

• Scan history. Codes you scan are saved on your device so you can find them again. They stay there. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot read them.
• Clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling QuickQR, deletes this history permanently.

Camera and photos

• The camera is used only to detect a QR code in the live preview. Nothing is recorded, saved, or transmitted.
• If you scan a code from an image, that image is read on your device to decode it and is not uploaded.
• Saving a QR code writes an image to your device's gallery. Sharing one hands it to whichever app you choose — what happens next is governed by that app's own privacy policy.

Advertising

QuickQR shows ads through Google AdMob, which keeps the app free. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID along with technical information such as device type, operating system version, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This is handled by Google, not by us — we never receive it, and we cannot connect it to anything you scan.

• In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, QuickQR asks for your consent before ads are personalised, using Google's consent form. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy options in the app.
• You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device's settings, under Google → Ads.

Other network activity

• Update checks. On launch, QuickQR asks Google Play whether a newer version exists.
• Fonts. The app's typeface is fetched from Google Fonts the first time it is needed, then cached on your device.

Apart from these and the ads above, QuickQR makes no network requests. Generating and scanning codes work with no connection at all.

What we do not do

• No accounts, no sign-in, no profile.
• No analytics or crash-reporting SDK of any kind.
• We do not sell your data — we do not receive it in the first place.

Children

QuickQR is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
