TipSplit — Privacy Policy

TipSplit splits a restaurant bill on your device. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, and no server of its own. It does not request a single Android permission — not even internet access — so the bills you type in have no way to reach us or anyone else.
What TipSplit stores on your device
- Your preferences. The last tip percentage you used and your rounding choice are saved so the app opens the way you left it. That is the entire list.
- Bills are not saved. The amount, the number of people, and any share weights you set exist only while the app is open. Closing it discards them. There is no history to look back through.
- Clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling TipSplit, removes the saved preferences permanently.
Permissions
TipSplit requests no Android permissions. It has no access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, storage, or network. You can confirm this under App info → Permissions on your device.
Network activity
- None from the app itself. Because TipSplit holds no internet permission, it cannot make network requests. Every calculation happens on your device, offline, including on a plane or with no signal.
- Update checks. On launch, TipSplit asks the Google Play Store app already installed on your device whether a newer version exists. That conversation happens between the app and Play on your device; it carries nothing about your bills, and we receive nothing from it.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no profile.
- No ads and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK of any kind.
- We do not sell or share your data — we never receive it in the first place.
Children
TipSplit is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. As described above, the app collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
