UnitFlip — Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 September 2026

UnitFlip converts units and currency on your device. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, and no server of its own. It makes exactly one kind of network request — fetching the day's published exchange rates — and that request carries nothing about you or what you typed.

What UnitFlip stores on your device

All of it stays on your device. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and we have no way to read it.

Permissions

UnitFlip requests one Android permission: internet access. It is used solely to refresh exchange rates. The app has no access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, microphone, or files.

All thirteen unit categories — length, mass, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, data, energy, power, pressure, fuel economy and angle — work with that permission denied and with no connection at all. Only the currency refresh needs it, and the app ships with a rate table built in, so currency converts on the very first launch even if the device has never been online.

Network activity

The rate provider is a third party and receives the request itself; their handling of it is governed by their own policy. They receive no information identifying you from us.

What we do not do

Children

UnitFlip is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. As described above, the app collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
